Walker, Louisiana

Our Story

Started on a Porch

Moon’s Porch is a Walker, Louisiana family operation. It started the way all the best Louisiana food does — on a porch, in a big cast iron pot, cooking for the people you love.

The recipes come from years of backyard cookouts, family gatherings, and the kind of from-scratch cooking that doesn’t exist in restaurants anymore.

What started as cooking for family and neighbors has grown into a presence at Frog’s Farmers Market in Denham Springs, the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds, community fundraisers, and Autism Awareness benefits across the parish.

The name says it all. The porch is where Louisiana life happens — and that’s where this food comes from.

The Way We Cook

✦  Everything cooked fresh — at every single event
✦  Real cast iron, real fire, real wood
✦  Our own seasoning blend — no shortcuts
✦  Smoked sausage sourced locally when possible
✦  The holy trinity: onion, celery, bell pepper — always
✦  No reheating. No compromises. No exceptions.

“Come get it while it’s hot!”
— Moon’s Porch, Livingston Parish Fairgrounds

More Than a Food Vendor

Part of the Community

Moon’s Porch doesn’t just show up to sell food. They show up because they’re part of this community — supporting Autism Awareness events, cheering on local vendors, and cooking for people who matter.

“Let’s come together” — that’s not a tagline. That’s how they were raised.

“Jambalaya was the bomb!! Thanku so much 💓 absolutely delish!”
